Let's take a look at the Opening Bombing Mission track from Final Fantasy VII Remake soundtrack and turn it into another cool drumming exercise. The Opening Bombing Track is one of my favorite video game tracks in the game, and quite possibly one of my favorite sequences in any video game ever. In the first exercise, you play triplets but the three notes in a row almost makes it feel like a workout for your weaker hand. In the second exercise, you play double paradiddles, but the accents are alternated between each hand. I encourage you to practice all of your standard rudiments, but after you've got them down, think, practice, and play them differently. Try adding flams, diddles, or moving the accents around.
