"Pumpkin" is a video game track from the Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii Soundtrack. It was originally composed by DrumJ8. Wait a minute... that's a me! This was my original submission which sounds slightly different from what ultimately ended up in the video game, playable on the Nintendo Wii. I kind of went through a rebranding thing and recently created u/odd_drummer and Odd Drummer Gaming. Special thanks to my wife who gave me the idea of uploading this and sharing it, hopefully just in time for Halloween 2020!

I decided to roll the dice and purchase the Orchestral Arrangement album anyway, and I was NOT disappointed in the slightest. The tracks are beautiful, and per the composers and orchestrators, have been reconstructed into a new, symphonic form. Let's take a look at a simple Drum Rudiment exercise that you can do to help improve your single stroke speed. This drum exercise combines the Single Stroke Four and the Single Stroke Seven. In this video, you can practice along to 80 BPM, 100 BPM, and 140 BPM. What I also like to do is practice along to my favorite video game soundtracks. For this drum exercise, I chose Fight On! from Final Fantasy VII.

Let's take a look at the Opening Bombing Mission track from Final Fantasy VII Remake soundtrack and turn it into another cool drumming exercise. The Opening Bombing Track is one of my favorite video game tracks in the game, and quite possibly one of my favorite sequences in any video game ever. In the first exercise, you play triplets but the three notes in a row almost makes it feel like a workout for your weaker hand. In the second exercise, you play double paradiddles, but the accents are alternated between each hand. I encourage you to practice all of your standard rudiments, but after you've got them down, think, practice, and play them differently. Try adding flams, diddles, or moving the accents around.
